Increasing access to healthy food in a manner that maintains dignity, builds health and community and challenges inequality

The Stop holds a key focus of social justice, and strengthening community through capacity building and training.

As a Social Enterprise they aim to increase community access to healthy food with an eye on the future, they have realised the need for more than simple short term relief. Whilst still providing frontline services such as a drop-in centre and food bank, they also run community advocacy, programs and classes to strengthen the local community.

They run programs to assist with education and networking among food growers. Using a regional branding has encouraged sustainable farming in the local area. The Stop works to reinvigorate farming, giving agriculture value, providing training and opportunities for young people to enter farming.
